Graphic Designer

Full-time with benefits. Work with creative team to design projects in a timely manner to increase efficiency. Entry to mid-level experience required; junior preferred.
- Assist Print Designer and Creative Director in creation and execution of files, including initial setup and information gathering for projects.
- Work with team on a variety of design and development projects, including print catalogs and advertisements, product flyers, instruction manuals (writing, creating, illustrating), online marketing, websites, trade show banners, video projects, and more.
- Process images and maintain files according to specs for efficient project collaboration.
- Photograph events, products, and art pieces.
- Provide assistance with printing in-house literature.
- Perform detail tasks for websites as needed, including routine maintenance, analytics, and basic updates (creating and adding banners, updating online schedules, updating traffic analysis, etc.).
- Perform detail tasks for video editing, collection, and storage.
- Provide creative writing support for the web, print collateral, public relations, and publications as needed.
- Proofread and edit projects as needed.
- Prioritize and execute tasks to meet scheduling requirements.
- Prepare files and/or research for department.
- Assist in managing workflow.
Glendo Corporation is seeking a versatile and experienced designer to join its creative team. Designer will fulfill department tasks involving print, web, and video production to promote products and services. Glendo provides and manufactures over 700 quality products for hand engraving artists, jewelers, and craftsmen working in over 60 countries. With exposure to high-end pieces from all over the world, an appreciation for art is a must.
The ideal employee is a self-motivated, independent worker who can meet deadlines, multi-task, and requires minimal supervision. Candidate must have strong visual communication skills, knowledge of typography and layout, and a thorough understanding of color theory. Experience in copywriting, proofreading, and editing is required. Experience with video production and web design / development is a major plus.
Daily responsibilities include development and execution of projects, providing research and file preparation, file management, workflow and scheduling, and similar production-related duties, such as contacting vendors and requesting quotes. Candidate will work with Adobe CS5 on Mac OS X. Must be willing to relocate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Graphic Design (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Mac OS X proficiency
- Extensive experience in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator (CS3 or higher)
- Experience in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Acrobat
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software or similar business applications
- A strong portfolio or design samples
- Superb copywriting and editing / proofreading skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Work efficiently without compromising accuracy
- Take direction, input, and constructive criticism well
- Can interact with all levels of management and multiple team members
- Basic understanding of NLE and web design / development
Preferred:
- Experience in Flash, with examples
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, and similar coding
- Experience in After Effects and Premiere Pro (Final Cut Pro and other NLE software acceptable)
- Experience with and knowledge of video editing, motion graphics, and sound editing
- Working knowledge of digital photography and studio product photography
- Published examples of writing experience
